– I can confirm that PST has made investigations in a case suggesting that Polar Institute has been the victim of a network-based intelligence operation, says Arne Christian Haug Stølsvatnet, Head of Section for state actors in PST, TV2.

– Based on how advanced this operation has been so requires a player with large capacity. We are reasonably confident that it is a state actor behind, says Haug Stølsvatnet.

– We have enough, as many others, had irregularities against our firewall. What is difficult is to know where it comes from and how severe it is, says Polar Institute director Jan-Gunnar Winther.

Wednesday let Benedicte Bjørnland, chief of the Police Security Service (PST) is the annual threat assessment. Where it came partly out that PST believes that Russian intelligence has the greatest potential damage to Norwegian interests.
