The judgment of the Court of Appeal should be the first of its kind, writes Fredriksstad sheet.
Summer 2013 attacks the two rottweilerne first a nine year old boy, then two weeks later, a one year and eleven months old boy shame bitten severely by the dogs jumped over a fence and attacked him.
After the attacks on the two children, the dogs were quickly killed. Following the two dog owners acquitted one attack, while they were sentenced respectively to 15 and 18-day suspended jail for the second.
The Court concludes that the two dog owners had acted negligently and believes the two young men must serve prison sentences of 18 and 21 days. The verdict appears to none of them had done something after the first episode to prevent another attack.
– It was large and powerful dogs. The boy suffered extensive head injuries, he was torn and bitten and thrown in the air. Had not his mother and her boyfriend got intervened so early, the outcome could have easily been that the dogs had killed the boy, standing there in judgment.
The little boy is inflicted lifelong physical damage. The two dog owners must also pay damages compensation to the boy and his mother totaling 175,000 dollars.
