17 cars and 39 people were snowed in at Sognefjellet on RV 55 in the afternoon.
– There is chaos in the mountains, says operational manager.
– Several cars were snowed in. Police and Red Cross had to salvage the people with snowmobiles and scooters, he said.

– They were dug up and escorted out of drifts, and all the cars will now be out, said Gulliksen.
As a precaution, police have asked Road Traffic Management Centre sending an snowplough to check whether there are more cars left there.
State road 55 is now closed, and Tinde road is not executable at the moment.
The Dutch and Koreans
Among the rescued is both Norwegians and tourists.
– There were Norwegians, Koreans and Dutch, who probably were not dressed for these conditions, says operations Gulliksen.
Some of those rescued are taken to Sognefjellhytta, someone Turtagrø and a few cars are sent east, police said.
