Nav director has been fired – Aftenposten

– Nav is my main political project. For the government it has always been important to put people first front system. We rely on to take some steps to succeed, and there are moves which means that we need new leadership in Nav, said Eriksson during a press conference Friday morning.

Eriksson says Kjersti Monland being appointed interim director of Nav. Monland comes from the position as ICT director of Nav.

The process of finding new Nav director starts next week, says Eriksson.

To succeed in getting more people into work must Nav be much closer labor and employers than today, says Eriksson.

– Nav has moved away from the things of work to do. We must get back “A” -A Nav. One must get more clout in terms of getting people back to work. The report, which was presented yesterday confirms my impression over time. We have moved away from it with work first, said Eriksson.

– Concerns direction Nav has moved towards

Eriksson thank Lystad partly to have completed the scheme of work clarification money and new disability scheme.

– Nav is a demanding and difficult organization to lead. I want to thank Lystad who has led the largest agency through many large and complex challenges. Yet I believe it is necessary to take steps to succeed with my main political project, which is to get more people into work, the minister said.

He wants a new force and energy in Nav to ensure that people, and not the system, comes first, he told the press conference. Eriksson did not want to point to any specific errors Lystad made as Nav director.

– It’s about the sum of many things in the direction Nav has moved through several years, says Eriksson.

Criticism 1: Weak achievement

Spark Nobody comes the day after Labour and Social Affairs Robert Eriksson was handed a report on Nav. The so-called expert committee has evaluated the measures that can contribute to a simpler, more efficient and customized Nav.

Here Nav got strong criticism for weak achievement when it comes to people into work. The committee stated that only 3 percent of 7 million user meetings with Nav about engaging with employers.

– Nav and work has by the expert group opinion in too greatly diverged, said Chairwoman Sigrun Vågeng when she Thursday handed over expert report to Labour and Social Affairs.

Aftenposten wrote Friday in an editorial that Nav is job number one for Eriksson.

Criticism 2: ICT bang

Joakim Lystad has been Director Nav since October 2010 and has been in rough weather several times, most recently because of a billion slam in connection with Navs IT modernization.

He testified before the Control Committee in Parliament last November about the large cost overruns. Lystad told that ICT project originally had a budget of 3.3 billion, has been a half billion higher than originally estimated in 2011.

– I believe we are far better prepared to proceed with ICT project. We have learned from what has happened, Lystad said.

When Dagens Næringsliv revealed that consulting A2 in a report to Nav management identified deficiencies and weaknesses in ICT project.

A2 wrote that deficiencies’ entails a risk that it will occur unforeseen costs and delays in implementation. ” “Low efficiency”, “incomplete costing” and “limited implementation capacity” were other key elements in the report.

Criticism 3: Extensive use of consultants

Also Navs use of consultants is the theme of the Parliamentary control committee. Eriksson has promised full review of spending.

– I understand the questions that are being raised. 9.6 billion in the years 2006-2014 will for most people perceived as a very high amount, said Eriksson under control hearing on 2 February.

Lystad trained agronomist and has previously been Director of Agriculture.
