Nav answer form criticism: New solution coming soon – Aftenposten

In a widely read posts in Aftenposten lampoons pregnant Tuva Eikås over Navs steinaldergammeldagse system to apply for parental benefits.

“Pregnancy and childbirth are so primal as it can be, but we must go back to the stone age for it? As prospective parents plucked one out of the reality you know, and left to a time of paper forms, postal and fax, “writes Eikås.

Instead of just long with habitual criticism Nav, she chose a more constructive approach: Eikås presented a new and simpler form even as she believes Nav should go for.

“It is my contention that if you fixed the parental benefit form such that 80 per cent of applicants could serve itself, would all the nice NAV employees I spoke with on the phone in the past (for they are really nice) would spend their time on more sensible things than answering the same questions over and over again, “writes Eikås.

Thanks for criticism!

Nav responds by thanking for criticism, including a comment in the comments box during her post, signed Espen Sunde, head in duct section in Labour and Welfare.

“Thank you for a well written and constructive criticism of the current parental benefit our solution,” writes Espen Sunde Tuva Eikås which is one of about 120,000 prospective parents a year applying for parental benefits.

Sunde believes Eikås has many good points. He understands the criticism, not least that with the current solution must download PDFs, fill out and then reload.

– The situation with PDFs is based on the old physical paper forms, which we have made about electronic PDFs, says Sunde told Aftenposten.

– It is Tuva Eikås writes, “Power On paper form”?

– Yes, is there. Those who think the current solution is too cumbersome, send by mail. Post Shipments are scanned so that we have the information electronically for further processing, explains Sunde.

Now it will be easier

Sunde laws that from the end of June will be much easier for prospective parents to search for parental benefits.

– Now it immediately becomes much easier. We are now developing a full electronic solution for parents who want to apply for parental leave money, says Sunde.

He said that efforts to simplify and digitize parental benefit applications began at the start, long before pregnant Tuva Eikås wrote his article . With online application dialogue users do not relate to matters that do not concern them.

– We have done on pension and unemployment benefits, now we do it also on parental benefit, says Sunde.

The fact that Eikås was sent to a security that did not fit for service, be a mistake, according to Sunde.

– We will rectify, he said.

Someone must upload paper

He notes that Nav has around 50 different performance areas with many different and complicated regulations.

– But with full electronic application dialogue prepopulate what we know about you, who you are, where you live, information about your employment. In some cases, you must upload attachments, which still exists only on paper, says Sunde.

– 80 percent should be able to search on their own with the new solution. It is a goal. Today it is around half that manage or bear to finish the application process on their own, says Sunde.

According Eikås’ posts get Nav 550,000 inquiries a year from parents seeking parents money. Sunde may Tuesday night not vouch for century but says that thousands of prospective parents each year contacting Nav because they are struggling to fill out the form for parental leave money.

Nav will conduct extensive user testing of the new solution, and the agency wants Tuva Eikås welcome to participate in it.

Later also proceedings automated, then not only users but also Nav get gain of modernization.

– Will Navs new solution look a lot like Tuva Eikås suggestion to you?

– It will look more like the Tuva suggest than it will resemble the current solution, says Eikås.
