Rauland closed, dangerous mountain – Aftenposten

Last: Rauland is opened again at. 12.38. Also fv. 50 Aurland-Hol is open, informs NPRA.

– It is difficult conditions on all mountain passes, and people should think before they embark on a trip, says traffic operator Ronny Sleire in Public Roads Administration to Bergens Tidende .

Just after midnight on Sunday went a landslide on the outside of Haukeli Tunnel blocking the road. When NPRA considered the situation this morning, they saw that several snowdrifts are in danger of tumbling down. Thus had E134 closed until Sunday afternoon.

cornice had blown down, according Sleire.

Milder weather will make driving conditions even more risky

It is now dangerous conditions on all mountain passes, and several roads are closed. Throughout the day there will be milder weather, which will make driving conditions even more risky.

– It is not safe over the mountain, and people should consider other means of transport. If they absolutely must drive, Filefjell the best option, says Sleire.

Over the next few days there will be increasing wind and precipitation. It makes that conditions will deteriorate further.

– Worse Monday and Tuesday

– It does not look good on some of the mountain passes, either Monday or Tuesday, said Sleire.

– With such relationship begins heavier vehicles to have problems, and thus one can get delays also on roads that are open, of the type we are now looking at Tyin.

Status on the roads over the mountains is like follow around Sunday lunch:

  • Highway 7 over Hardangervidda – convoy
  • Road 52 Hemsedal – open
  • county road 50 Aurland-Hol – open
  • E16 Filefjell – open
