SV and the Liberals out of the wolf negotiations – Bergens Tidende

Left and SV switch negotiations in the energy and environment committee of the Parliament on the government wolf message. Last week did the Center Party and the Green Party the same.

Committee chair and Liberal deputy Ola Elvestuen blames parliamentary groups to the Conservatives and the Progress Party.

– We have the longest attempted to come to an agreement with the government parties that would imply that the government’s own proposal was adopted, but it was not possible to get the Conservatives and the Progress Party of, says Elvestuen.

SV Heikki Eidsvoll Holmås voices:

– the wolf is critically endangered and we have no species loss. Therefore needed more wolves in Norway. Yet yesterday the Conservatives and the Progress Party against both their own government and all professional advice on an acceptable wolf management. I am disappointed governing parties, he said.

Elvestuen notes that breakthrough marks the end of twelve years of broad political agreement on Norwegian predator policy.

– That Right choose to add accountability to side to please carnivores hostile attitudes within their own party’s sad, both for climate and environment minister Vidar Helgesen who has put forth a message that should have been a good basis for a broad consensus, and not least for the Norwegian wolf tribe who now risk being virtually eliminated , he said.
