Left submits new budget requirements – NRK

– We have high expectations for the budget and we have new initiatives that we believe must be put in place, say labor and social policy spokesperson Sveinung Rotevatn in Left to Dagens Næringsliv.

The party demands that the government spends 2 , 5 billion on the 15 measures to reverse the downturn in the oil sector.

– There is need now, is a green investment package. The situation is in Norway shows how dangerous it is to make itself very dependent on the price of a single commodity. It makes our economy vulnerable, but now we have a good chance to carry out a proper restructuring, says Rotevatn.

Among the other proposals in the Liberal billion package states that environmental taxes must be increased, and that measures must be steered increasing investments in the transport and building green infrastructure. This will contribute to the restructuring of the economy, believes the party.

Rotevatn also mentions tax credits for energy efficiency measures in their own homes and tax cuts for businesses just starting out as important measures.

– We need an exemption for payroll taxes for three years for companies with less than five employees. These are companies in the initial phase and will be a targeted tax relief to those who dare to invest in new ideas and create new jobs, he said.

Most of the 2.5 billion crowns will Left spend on construction completed collective efforts and the planned pedestrian and cycle paths in and around the nation’s largest cities.
