A person arrested for the murder of Kristin Juel Johannessen – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): One person has been arrested for the murder of Kristin Juel Johannessen. Johannessen was killed on 5 August 1999. She was 12 years old.

Police would not comment further on the case before a press conference at 14.00 in Larvik today.

The 12-year-old girl was strangled and killed on their way to bathe in August 1999 in the village Dark at Larvik.

One person was in 2001 sentenced to 12 years in prison for the murder of Juel Johannessen, but later acquitted. Another person was also charged with a period.

Kristin was going to a friend for a swim. She rode away on the evening of Thursday 5th of August, but never came home again.

She was reported missing by his father at 21 o’clock. There were two men from the village who discovered her bike.

Around 23:00 that night was the 12-year-old girl found lying in the woods.

In 2014 gave police inspector Odd Reidar Humlegårdsvägen NCIS in mission to establish a group to investigate unsolved criminal cases where the investigation has stalled.

One of these has been the unsolved murder of Kristin Juel Johannessen.

– are prepared a mandate from Director of Public Prosecutions, the National Police and the Criminal Police. Work on this commenced one of the coming days, said Humlegårdsvägen Dagbladet.

Author and former police investigator Jørn Lier Horst from Larvik think the creation of the group can do something about people’s sense of justice.

– It is important for people’s legal rights and sense of justice that we are able to solve the major issues. That one will now go through old issues with new eyes, can definitely make us feel a little more confident that issues are resolved, said Horst told Dagbladet.
