Tour mates avalanches – 14 picked up by helicopter – Dagbladet.no

A tour mates of five people had to be retrieved by helicopter after an avalanche triggered by Nyheitinden Rauma. Also other nine were extracted.

JRCC Southern Norway (HRS) sent a Sea King rescue helicopter to bring down the five people who were stuck in the mountains after the avalanche, which went on Saturday afternoon.

– We thought at first that it was only five hikers who were stuck in the mountains, but they have now testified that they know of several people who are in the area. Therefore, we believe now that they are as many as 14 that must be downloaded by helicopter, said rescue leader Owe Frøland NRK.

Just after 18.30 notify HRS that all 14 are taken and that the action ends.

Nyheitinden located about 20 kilometers east of Andalsnes in Rauma municipality in Møre og Romsdal.
