– Time 4:51 we received notification that a person was found dead in an apartment on Stovner. We were relatively quickly on the spot. There are findings in the apartment where the person was located that makes death termed as suspicious, said operations Line Scotland Oslo Police to TV 2. She says that several police units and people from Correctional Guard is on site. The dead is a man in the early 60s.
Police received notification of the death of a person who found the dead inside the apartment.
Police confirm they are investigating the death as a homicide. A person is arrested and charged in the case.
– A man in his 20s was arrested without incident in Oslo. We try to get completed interrogation of the accused person during the day, said Police Inspector Grete Lien Metlid.
She said that there is a relationship between the deaths and the arrested but do not want to go into what kind of relationship it is.
Police are now working on site, including conducting surveys of residents in the area.
A neighbor to the apartment where the man was found says he heard thumping noises on Monday night, but that he did not realize that something had happened seriously.
– I heard some thumping noises in the night, but I did not realize that something had happened until I saw the police today, says one of the closest neighbors to TV 2.
What do you think about that now being investigated as a murder?
– It is absolutely terrible. Ghastly, says neighbor.
Other neighbors say they have not heard anything and describes the area as quiet and calm.
– We are completely shocked that it may have happened something like that, says another resident.
