Three skiers missed – NRK

– We got the message that three people had not returned on time Sunday night after a trip in the mountains, said operations in Hordaland Police Terje Magnussen to Bergens Tidende.

The three skiers have been on a cabin and was expected back from trip to Modalen four o’clock Sunday afternoon.

Had turning

Crew Red Cross failed to take care to the cabin on Monday night because of bad weather.

– We seek up there now, but it is challenging coverage even with a satellite phone. Police in Hordaland coordinate action. Some of our crews had to return due to difficult conditions, says Håvard Hongve Helle, spokesman for Red Cross Hordaland.

He confirms that this is the only exploration campaign in the county so far at Easter.

Poor meteorological

JRCC assists action, but neither managed to make their way by air.

– We sent a helicopter out to look night to Monday at 4:00. It had to return because of poor visibility and difficult flying conditions, said rescue leader Eirik Walle NRK.

He confirmed that there was no contact with skiers since Friday.

Well equipped cottage

Bergen and Hordaland turlag informs BT that Norddal cabin is located in rugged mountain terrain in the south end of Big Norddal Water Stølsheimen.

Norddal cabin is a self catering cottage, and is available all year round. The cabin has cooking equipment and stay.
