Landowner trapped four snowmobile riders. Now they can expect a sizeable fine – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): Four men in their 20s from Sandefjord can expect the police call a powerful bot for illegal snowmobiling in Vinje municipality in Telemark.

Telemark Police writes on Twitter that the four men plied savage driving outside marked pathways and that they had not permit.

Police had a great control in the area today, but it was the landowner in the area who first became aware of the illegal driving. He blocked off the trail, and contacted police.

– As far as I know he used a snowmobile to block off so they do not come out. When we got there, they stood in a row, says Vidar Aaltvedt, operations manager in Telemark Police, told Dagbladet.

The driving occurred in an area between Rauland ranges.

Telemark police controlled way a dozen other ships riders. Among them there was only one who got fined: 1500 kr for driving without helmet.

Also neighboring police district Agder can report illegal snowmobile.

Ingrid Mæhre, Operations College police, told Dagbladet that driving is likely to be reviewed and that there is a big problem with snowmobile in protected area.
