Man in 30s died in truck overturning the runway at Karmøy – Dagbladet.no

The man was crushed under the truck this morning, said Haugaland and Sunnhordland police.

– Police received notification at 8:45 that there had been an accident at the airport. It was an employee who drove a truck in connection with baggage handling. By a yet unknown reason overturned truck, and he ended up under, says operations Torgeir Stødle said.

The man was rushed to hospital in Haugesund ambulance. There he was somewhat later pronounced dead.

– Resuscitation was unsuccessful, said Stødle.

The relatives are notified of the death. Both the police and the Labour Inspection now investigating the incident.

– This will be done questioning of potential witnesses and technical investigations of the vehicle, said Operations Officer.

There have been high winds in the area. Friday night it blew gale at the airport. (NTB)
