Police on the stabbing in Haugesund: – Possibly jealousy relationship – VG

A man in his 30s was Friday night beaten and stabbed outside his home in Haugesund.

Police Saturday morning started interrogations of the three men on Friday night arrested on suspicion of bodily injury and stabbing after a man in his 30s was attacked in Haugesund.

The man was beaten up and stabbed in the back, but is not life-threatening injuries. There were neighbors who notified of the incident, which took place on the street outside the victim’s home. The police got the message just after midnight.

– We now continue with the questioning and do not know very much about the occasion for this yet, but it is possibly a jealousy relationship behind, said operations manager Trond Børge Åsbu in South Western Police District, to VG.

Two of the suspects are Polish men in their 30s, while the third is an ethnic Norwegian, 20s, police said. The aggrieved party is also ethnically Norwegian.

– You can view it as fortunate that it happened out on the street. Had it happened before, it is not certain neighbors had discovered this, and then it could have been worse. It may however be that it started inside, before they moved out into the street. It went very fast time from when we got the message we were on site with four squads, says Åsbu.

When police arrived at the scene were the perpetrators brought. Shortly after, the two Polish men arrested in a car in Torvastad and north man was arrested in Haugesund. The three suspects should be relatively unknown persons for police, said Åsby VG.
