(Dagbladet): Large parts of the country are affected by extensive train delays due to failure of a communications system, said National Rail.
– At about 7:40, we were told that Ipad communication between between train driver and the emitting running order, not works. Then do not train driver told one can run or not, and then the driver must stop the train to safety concerns, said pressevakt Jernbaneverket, Day Svinsås, to Dagbladet.
He says that there are extensive delays in large parts of the country, but has not yet an estimate of how large the delays in question.
– Trondheim and Central Norway are not affected. Error influencers nor all drivers in the other parts of the country, but you can safely say that there are major delays, says Svinsås
– Has this happened before?
– Never.
Problems with FIDO-app
The distribution system which is affected is called FIDO, and has been in operation since 12 April 2015. The system is based on a web application that provides information about train operations and work in track.
The system involves a shift from manual distribution of papers and documents to an automated and targeted electronic distribution of information to the PC or nettbret
– Jernbaneverket reports a fault in the communications system FIDO as leading to delays on trains in large parts of the country. Troubleshooting progress, informs Jernbaneverket on Twitter.
When Jernbaneverket took app in use in 2014, the aim was to make “ordering, allocation and distribution of track access more efficient.”
