IKEA warns customers that the gates Patrull dank and Patrull Agile should not be used on top of the stairs. Rails is however safe to use in doorways between two rooms or in the bottom of the stairs.
– IKEA has received reports of cases where the friction between the wall and the child gate with the tensioner has not been sufficient to hold the gate in place, type furniture giant said in a statement.
– If the gate is placed at the top of a staircase, this could pose a risk for falls and injuries. There are three reports of children who have injured themselves because they have fallen down the stairs, enter IKEA.
Customers who want to return the gates, can do it. Rails have been on sale since 1995. (© NTB)
