Boat came ashore outside Saetre – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): A 43 foot cabin cruiser went ashore on Torvøya outside Saetre tonight, reports Drammen Tidende.

More homeowners along Westfjords should have reacted when they saw a boat standing on the land at 21-30 o’clock in evening.

Police believe that the man is “obvious suspicion of drink.”

– We have taken a alkotest of him, and it made a substantial impact. Now it’s been taken a blood sample of the man, who is now sent home, says Svein Erik Gevelt, operations manager in Southern Buskerud Police District told Dagbladet.

Secure

The operator has made its version to the police. He is in his 60′s and was alone on board. The man was not injured while the boat will be completely destroyed.

– The boat is now secured. The man is sent home and will get a settlement with the insurance and police later. The man is from Asker and Bærum District, according Gevelt.

The boat must according to Drammen Tidende lenses by lifeboat to stay afloat. If not, it will sink.

Four meters deep

Kjetil Hagen, rescue leader at Hovedredninssentralen southern Norway, told DT late Sunday night that he feared the boat came to sag.

– Latest Info I have is that lifeboat and the boat from the fire department has trouble keeping it afloat. They fail this, and that no foreign ships, they will probably let it sink, said Hagen .

It should be around four meters deep at the site.
