Selection: Nav and work has parted – Aftenposten

– Nav and work has by the expert group opinion in too greatly diverged, says Sigrun Vågeng.

The Commission proposes to reduce number Nav offices, to strengthen expertise and provide offices more authority and freedom to design measures that suit the individual.

The employers perspective

The offices must have closer contact with those who actually have work to offer, says expert committee.

Therefore we propose that the Working centers transferred to Nav offices. It will give Nav better skills and closer contact with employers, says the committee.

These centers are currently part of the collaboration in the workplace, through the agreement for an inclusive workplace. Eriksson must therefore with the organizations in the sector to bring about a change.

– To get some work, you must see it from the employers’ perspective, think Vågeng, which normally is the director of the National Institute for Consumer Research (SIFO).

Expert Committee believes Nav has been a “procurement office” for placements all offering. In this way the agency has “outsourced its strategic core,” according Vågeng. She emphasizes that Nav should not compete with private employment services.



– Good description

– I think Vågeng range comes with a good description of the situation in Nav, which I recognize myself in. I think we need to get better in the future to help more into working life, then we must have better expertise in Nav labor market and a new thinking about how we should follow up the user closer to working life, says Eriksson said.

He promises to read the report carefully, but can not say when the committee’s work will provide Nav users a better life.

– Do people insecure

In a subreport last fall got Nav also other serious diagnoses of Vågeng Committee. Here stated that both the information to users and forms they need to deal with, is difficult to understand.
