Bergen Police received clock 23.45 Saturday night phone call from a person who could tell that a woman had been ticking knife in an apartment in Ann Arbor. Police came out with several devices and were on site for only a few minutes.
– We did notice a serious assault, and it proved that a woman died of injuries. In this connection we have arrested and charged a man, said police superintendent Lars Morten Lothe Hordaland police.
questioning
Just seven minutes after the message about the stabbing, police were able to on-site state that a person had been arrested inside the apartment. The man was in one time taken to police headquarters in Bergen, and would probably be questioned once during the night.
– If possible, we will interrogate him at night, but we will prioritize the scene and talking to witnesses, says Lothe.
The murdered woman is 35 years old, while the accused man is 50 years. Both are of foreign origin. The woman was immediately taken care of by medical onsite, but was pronounced dead ten minutes after midnight.
Ethiopian
Several people from the Ethiopian community gathered Saturday night outside the residence where the woman died. They tell the Bergens Tidende that the woman was from Ethiopia, but the police can not confirm so far.
Lothe however says to NTB that there has been language problems when they have talked to people who were present in the apartment. In addition to the accused man, several witnesses were taken to the police station to be questioned Saturday night.
Both the arrested and the deceased’s acquaintances of each other, but police could not confirm that they are family members, so some media first reported.

– We heard someone scream first from the outside of the house, so we went out. Then there was a man who stood out in the road and screamed. He seemed very upset, telling the man.
He says that it was this man who called the police.
