Man died after drowning at Rennesøy in Rogaland – Norway

I can confirm that the person is dead. He died as a result of drowning. It was powered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (cpr) on site and on the way up here, but he died before he came here to us at Haukeland.

next of Kin is notified, informs the pressevakt at Haukeland hospital, Hilde Kleppestø, to Aftenbladet.

It was just after 18.30 on Saturday evening that the emergency services and a Sea King helicopter from the joint rescue coordination centre dispatched after the man was observed in the sea.

I can confirm that we have a rescue mission, and that a man is taken out of the water in Rennesøy, said redningsleder Ben Wikøren by the joint rescue coordination centre (HRS) to Apps just after 19: 00.

According to the operasjonsleder Frank Roland at the South-West police district, it was the passerby who discovered the man in the sea at Galta in Rennesøy in the north of Stavanger.

– They got the man on the land, and started cardiopulmonary resuscitation (cpr), says operasjonslederen to Aftenbladet.

Man is born in 1942, according to police.
