Has completed the search for wounded bear – NRK

Friday night was a bear wounded by a municipal hunting parties in Meråker. Hunters had permission from the County to shoot the bear.

After the bear was shot by hunters disappeared, but it was found blood tracks in the area. Police bathroom people stay away from the area until the bear was found and killed.

– We can not deny people to travel in this area, but I would not picked berries in there right now, said Johnny Olsen by police in North Trøndelag.

No more blood tracking

Saturday continued the search for the wounded bear, but when the clock had passed 19 hours, it was reported that after the search was completed.

– When there was no trail of blood where the bear had been in the area west of Stordal road, there is reason to believe that it is virtually unscathed, says operations manager.

Trønder-Avisa told Ole Jakob Sorensen, bear expert associated with Northern University, that a bear is the most dangerous at the moment it is shot.

– it has certainly been hiding and is still somewhere. So the danger that they could harm humans is extremely small.



Several carcasses found in the area earlier

Bears earlier this summer made sheep in areas around Meråker. It was found several carcasses of Steinsfjellet on the border with Sweden, and one just outside the center of Meråker.

In June it was also found a sheep’s carcass in Hegra. It is unclear if the same bear that has attacked the sheep in Meråker and in Hegra.

In July, six sheep taken by bears in Selbu. There has thus been a lot of sheep carcasses in Trondelag year you most due to bear.
