Ends search for Meråker-bear – Adresseavisen

The case is updated.

In search for the bear, who this summer has taken a number of sheep and Friday night was wounded, is called off.

Felling Director Einar Kolden tells the hunters during Saturday has tracked the bear in nine and a half kilometers, but that the early Saturday night decided to end the search.

– We find no sign that the bear is seriously injured. We have not seen the blood, and tracks tells us that it runs easily. It has moved far and run around our holdings, says Kolden, who along with hunters during the day followed the track using a hunting labrador.



Northwest for Stordalen

The bear has during the summer made it is believed to be around 50-60 sheep in Meråker area. The bear was fire at a municipal hunting party Friday night, after the County had issued hunting permits. This is valid until Monday, but Kolden says that it is not appropriate to continue actively search Sunday.

MAYORS: – There is great suffering for the animals, and owners who see it crumble under their feet.

– It will be so, just at random, and this wastes time and resources, says Kolden. He said that they had last track of the bear northwest of Stordalen, up against Foss Vatna.



Harmless to people

Police urged earlier this weekend hikers to stay away from the actual terrain. According Kolden is now full steam ahead.

– It was mostly that no one should interfere with the search. Otherwise, it is completely safe for people to move in the terrain now, informs foul conductor.
