Horse rescued from marshland – Bergens Tidende

fire service who managed to get loose horse who sank down bog in Arna.

On Sunday evening notified the fire department that a horse stuck in a swamp at Unneland Neset in Arna.

Just after the clock 22 reported that the horse’s body in the bog, but with their heads above. The horse was calm, but could not get up by itself.

Both Arna and Fana fire station was called out to come to the rescue.



Got horse up

Both excavator and veterinarian were also summoned.

– They must try to get something around the horse. I have not been involved in anything like that before, says guard commander Stig Tetler the 110 exchange.

Everything went fortunately very good. Already 2230 notified the fire department that the horse is up from the bog.



– In good spirits

scene commander Leiv Rune Vikne says it went smoothly to get the horse up.

– It had the head and front part of the legs above the marsh. We got attached straps under the belly, and with help from the excavator and a little help from us, it came up, he said.

Vikne says it is well with the horse, despite the somewhat dramatic evening.

– It was in good spirits afterwards. Now, it is taken care of by a veterinarian.
