Governor’s Super Puma helicopters still in operation – People magazine

Longyearbyen (NTB): Governor of Svalbard’s Super Puma helicopters are not covered by the CAA-fly.

1. June introduced CAA-fly for more Super Puma helicopters due Turøy accident in which 13 people lost their lives.

Governor disposes two Super Puma helicopters, but they are not covered by the extended grounding which also stops the search and rescue missions.

Governor helicopters is of a AS332L1 and they have another gear and rotor system than the helicopter involved in the accident, said the Governor. There are models EC225LP and AS332L2 who is sitting on the ground. (© NTB)
