With Vidar Kleppe of the Board received one in ten asylum. The average is one in two. – Dagbladet.no

It evokes strong reactions that Vidar Kleppe yielded only stay in one of the 10 to 12 cases he has been involved in the process in (UNE). He stated this figure Dagbladet on Friday.

– This confirms the suspicion we had when he was appointed, namely that he would not ability to act seriously and impartially, says Rune Berglund Steen in Anti-Racist Center.

– Pure coincidence

Now shows UNE figures for 2015 that percentage of applications granted in the 10 to 12 cases where Kleppe has served on the board, is far below average.

in 56 percent of the 728 asylum cases processed in board meetings – that is the kind of asylum cases Kleppe treats – did the appellant.

In addition, 107 cases concerning residence processed meeting of the Board. Where did the appellant in 48.6 percent of cases.

By 7576 asylum cases decided in UNE last year – including cases decided by Board chair alone – got 13.3 percent upheld.

– strong words

– There is a fundamental problem with the Tribunal that the outcome is often characterized by a sheer coincidence, namely who sits and decides. For Kleppe is probably the worst scenario that one too many receive residence, but from a legal perspective, it is far better that it provides protection to one too many than one too few, says Rune Berglund Steen. – Berglund Steen has fifteen years used strong words and characteristics of UNE and our decision makers. Yes, it can happen that different makers look differently on issues, but that’s also the case in the courts, where there is dissent completely up in the Supreme Court. Various reviews are totally ordinary where there are many makers who are not subject to one another, whether in the courts or in the UNE, replicates communications manager Bjørn Lyster UNE.

– Toys God

Berglund Steen believes Kleppe should have been ousted from office, which he received in 2013.

– that one possibly abusing such duties to exercise general migration resistance, and almost playing God with vulnerable and defenseless people, is reprehensible, and frankly a bit puny for a washed-politician, says Rune Berglund Steen.

Vidar Kleppe rejects sharply that he is washed up and biased.

– There is nothing to expect from the edge. They try to demonize all who disagree, Kleppe says to Dagbladet. The former Progress Party politician is now Democrat group leader in the City Council of Kristiansand.

Travel Questions

– I am very conscious that the regulations will apply, and puts me thoroughly into the issues, Kleppe says. He notes that he has had the majority over the cases he has been with and treat, in committees where he is one of three participants.

– Each case is of course a single issue, and individual, and when I take my decision, I am basing this on all available information, he said.

Norwegian Organization for asylum seekers (NOAS) is critical to Kleppe practices committee member in UNE.

– If he nine out of ten cases voted against, when it generally is the grant rate of 50 percent in committee meetings, there is good reason to question whether his attitude to asylum issues have gained importance for voting his, says senior legal adviser Andreas Furuseth in NOAS.
