Fire in planned asylum center in Hallingdal – VG

Halling Thrown in Hovet in Hol municipality is completely destroyed after a fire broke out on Monday night.

Emergency services received notice of the fire in the planned reception center at 4:50 o’clock.

– It still burning and fire crews have not yet gained control of the fire, said deputy chairman of Vestviken 110 central Arild Reinhartsen, VG.

Reinhartsen notes that it too early to say anything about the cause of the fire – at this time there would only be speculation, he said.

Operations Ola Fjeldstad in South-Eastern police District told VG that there is a large, older building is totally destroyed.

– there is nothing to suggest that there are people in the building, he said.

Stian Strand, who live and work near it burning building, told VG that he saw thick smoke when he woke up today.

– I drove past a few minutes ago. The entire building is completely destroyed and the bust remains of it, says Strand.

Strand says that he looked closer to a dozen vehicles of various rescue agencies on the spot.
