Fears that 500 “doubles” with fake ID comes to Norway annually – Dagbladet.no

People who come to Norway with a genuine passport belonging to someone else, is a growing problem, warns National ID Center.

Traditionally issue in Norway have been people trying to get into the country with false identity documents.

In a report on foreigners’ abuse of ID documents last year, National ID Center presented Wednesday warns that increasing numbers coming to Norway with genuine documents that belong to a another person.

– an Impostor – or a “lookalike” or “lookalike” – is a term used for a person who pretends to be someone else, says senior adviser Mads Odnes Jensen by National ID center to NRK.

the report reveals that last year was recorded 44 cases where someone tried to take into Norway using another person’s papers. The year before it was 55, but National ID Center think that is the big unknown here.

– The British had a survey two years ago in which they estimated that around 10,000 Impostor broke through British airports each year, and they uncovered 1,000 says Jensen.

He believes the share in Norway is at the same level. Thus, 500 people come to Norway annually by pretending to be someone else.

A total of 653 foreigners revealed in Norway last year with abuse of a total of 767 ID documents. The year before there were 729 people and 866 documents

Passports and national identification cards accounted for 59 percent of the documents in 2015 revealed that abused. Both in 2014 and 2015 was the highest Iraqi, Italian and Syrian documents among those who were abused.
