Bus arbitration proceeding in overtime – morning routes running normally – VG

The parties to the bus settlement negotiated several hours of overtime in an attempt to prevent the 1,500 bus drivers go on strike. Until further notice, morning buses run normally.

The negotiating deadline expired at midnight, and the parties have not yet set any new deadline.

– The first morning buses are now starting their routes. They run as normal until the new message is given, says communications manager Ida Langdalen Kristiansen Administrative Traffic Association NTB around at 4.15.

She has otherwise nothing new to report from the negotiations, other than that “for mediation continued.”

12,000 drivers

Bus settlement covers the four unions Occupation Traffic Association, Norwegian transport Workers’ Union, trade union and Railway Association, and the two employer organizations Spectrum and NHO transport.

the unions organize over 12,000 bus drivers. Initially we are talking about taking out the 1510 strike from Thursday morning, which would hit the bus traffic to and from Oslo Airport and airports in Bergen and Trondheim.

bus in Oslo will not be affected by a strike, reports the bus on its website.

Many routes can be affected

In addition, all fixed route in downtown Trondheim stop. The same applies to coastal bus route Kristiansand – Haugesund – Stavanger – Bergen and routes to Norway Bus in eastern Norway. Also routes to Unibuss Express will be affected.

The drivers believe employers violate a nine year old agreement that bus drivers should have escalation of salary levels in line with the industry. Besides requiring drivers clear guidelines for the workday. They claim that they are subjected to grueling schedules with few breaks.

CEO Jon H. Stordrange NHO transport stresses that they can not give bus drivers more than other groups.

– We have offered our counterparties the same settlement as others have been, and that other groups have accepted. We have no reason to go higher with the bus drivers than the other groups have gotten so far in this year’s settlement, said Stordrange NTB Monday.
