Child Deaths in Troms was not meningitis – People magazine

Tromso (NTB): One of the two children deaths in Lenvik municipality in Troms in February, caused still not meningitis.

It shows the autopsy and analysis samples, NRK reported Thursday.

In February died a child in Lenvik due to meningitis. A few weeks later died an older child in the same school district, and it was initiated treatment of those who had been in contact with this child because of suspected meningitis.

local medical officer Aslak Hovda Lien says his father is small for several cases of meningitis, meningococcal disease in Lenvik.

– meningococcal disease occurs more often in individual cases. The Institute says that if there are more cases, coming third in the first day, the next third, in the first week, and when seven weeks have passed, comes the last third. Now it has gone more than seven weeks since the first death, and that means that the likelihood of new cases is low, he says to NRK. (© NTB)
