Rape Receiving the alarm about Tinder, online dating – Adresseavisen

– We began to see a significant increase last year in the category which includes rape after initial contact has been on Tinder and other dating sites, said police superintendent Kari-Janne Lid in oslo police section for violent and sexual crimes VG. In 2014 fell 29 per cent of all reported rapes in Oslo in this category. Last year the figure was increased to 40 percent.

Ann Helen Lomsdalen, head of the sexual assault center in Fredrikstad, went recently into Fredriksstad sheet and warned naive use of datingappen Tinder.

– We see more rape in connection with tinder-dater. It’s a trend we think is frightening. It happened pretty much in the eight years I have chaired the reception, says Lomsdalen VG. Three out of nine cases at the reception so far this year comes to people who have met through tinder.

– It is in itself might not be a big number, but there is a pattern we see, she says. The newspaper has been in contact with several reception who see the same trend.

Tinder spokeswoman Rosette Pambakian said the company takes user security seriously and has strict rules, but they are not immune to adverse events.
