Here meetings LO Gerd pension wall – VG

Here is the LO leader Gerd Kristiansen heading into NHO house Thursday afternoon. There she went on a pension bang.

LO leader Gerd Kristiansen and NHO chief Kristin Skogen Lund wants a giant reorganization of the pension system, which would make sure everyone gets the same pension plan. But it buklandet Thursday. At least for now.

The two have worked feverishly for support to study a simple and bridging pension scheme should apply to both public and private sectors.

They have among Others have been traveling to Finland to consider their plan.

but after meeting Thursday night, they decided to send out a common message, stating that they did not get it, but how they explain that their joint efforts will be continued.

never for a goal

the casualty is especially difficult for LO leader Gerd Kristiansen, has passed out and said that the pension issue should be lifted out of this year’s wage and treated independently of spring’s main settlement, to widespread protests from LO’s biggest union in the private sector, the United Federation.

But Skogen Lund Kristiansen never came so far. They were unable even to agree on the mandate work would rest on.

A source in NHO says:

– Achieving assessment of such a comprehensive pension solution is not abandoned, there is a solution both LO and NHO will be served by. But in connection with this year’s settlement went there so many other processes, that they might run. So we’ll see what we can do next to create the basis for a large public pension plans in Norway.

Bristol meeting

25. January met peaks of the LO and NHO at the Hotel Bristol in Oslo. Skogen Lund Kristiansen has long talked more closely on board and was the day progressed so far that it was time to bring Norwegian Industries (NHO) and Unions (LO), which traditionally leads the negotiations in a main settlement.

Therefore also participated leader Stein Lier-Hansen in Norwegian Industry and Fellesforbund Director Jørn Eggum, the Bristol meeting.

the two had five days before the agreed framework for how they would work on board in this year settlement: it was something completely different than bigwigs would.

at the Bristol meeting it was agreed that the Chief Economist Stein Reegård LO and working Svein Oppegård NHO should try to create a mandate for pension plans.

– guard consternation

But the process of LO unions concerning wage settlement run parallel. The disagreement in the LO was very clear, but also in NHO associations were eventually reacted with astonishment that it negotiated with LO about something so fundamentally that pension, outside the traditional framework.

When the class struggle wrote about the secret talks Thursday morning, it caused consternation in many parts of NHO system. Also in several of the major companies, the message was received with disbelief. Because no one could find that it is given any mandate to NHO management about starting such work.

When Reegård and Oppegård accounted for their work when they met Thursday afternoon, had managements only conclude that they had not managed to agree on a mandate for the large pension promise.

Ideal basis

The mandate would only add frames. Sources says to VG that Skogen Lund Kristiansen partly wanted to investigate these points:

** The pension issue is lifted out of the wage settlement and a joint committee will draw up a new joint plan.

** Each employee will receive a separate pension account, which is organized in a pension fund, which coordinated with National Insurance. (Here there was disagreement)

** The scheme should be easy to manage, so that costs are kept down.

** Work should have a long time horizon and should also could absorb Contractual pension (AFP). The scheme will be evaluated in 2017.

** Officials are drawn, because it will be required legislative and system changes. Labour and Social Affairs anniken hauglie informed of the work.

Hauglie- confirms

She confirmed to VG that she is familiar with the work and says she is in favor of assessing the overall common solutions with the social partners.

the goal of Skogen Lund Kristiansen is a system so simple scheme that people actually understand their pension.

today’s pension a patchwork of arrangements that make that most do not stick with the debate or have enough knowledge for their retirement.

the agreement will ensure workers’ rights through legislation, not through tariff stitch, which has been the basis for Fellesforbundet proposal.

the reason is that Norwegian Industry and NHO has made it clear that they will never be involved in tariff este pension.

by creating one overarching and comprehensive plan which ensured through legislation, is a possible compromise that it will be so strong and mandated that it can make up for that it does not bind to a collective agreement.

What now will be the outcome?

there are wage settlements which all LO unions will promote their pension requirements.

The settlement starts on March 8 and ends probably 2 April.
