Two people dead after elgpåkjørsel – Hamar Dagblad

Two people have died and two have been sent to hospital after a elgpåkjørsel on Highway 25.

Two people died in a traffic accident on Highway 25 in Hernes, about seven kilometers east of Elverum. In addition, a person sent to Ullevål hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the fourth person who was in the car also are sent to Ullevål hospital.

– A woman is admitted to Ullevål and treated for life-threatening injuries. A man of 18 years is also injured and admitted at the same hospital. He treated for unexplained injuries, pressure contact Anders Bayer to Østlendingen.

It was at 2:40 Thursday night emergency services were notified that a passenger had run off Highway 25 at Hernes.

In the car, which is Norwegian registered, there were four people and two of these were early confirmed dead.

– According to information we have received so there was a collision between the car accident and an elk on a straight stretch. The car swerved off the road and ran into a tree. There was a fire in the car, as one of the very first people who came to the accident site were extinguished, said acting police chief at city police station, Ove Osgjelten to Østlendingen at 07.00.

It is stated that there was fire in the car that caused the two people were killed.

Acting Police Chief Osgjelten says it is working hard to identify the victims and warn relatives.

– It is priority of ours, says Ove Osgjelten.

Technicians from the police and the Public Roads Administration work in the morning hours at the scene.

State road 25 was closed until 10.30, but is now open to traffic.
