Called police and said SFO employees Lamin (37) tried to lure children … – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): Lamin Samateh jobs at SFO at the Westside School in Porsgrunn.

Yesterday he was told by his boss to take a seven year old at the school to the town library, but the visit ended in the 37-year-old calls for a tragic day.

When Samateh put together with your child and read in the library, there was suddenly two uniformed police officers in and asked to speak with him. Someone had tipped the police that a man tried to abduct children, writes Varden today.

– Racism

Samateh is very upset when Dagbladet speaks with him on Wednesday morning, the day after the event .

– When the police came, I had to explain to the child that it goes well. We went into a room and I asked the police what happened. I was asked to show identification and did it. The police explained that they had received a call from someone who saw me. When I explained that I was at work for SFO and had been told to take the child to the library, the policeman said “oi” and lamented, saying Samateh Dagbladet.

– I feel it was because of my skin color and because I’m black. I have a daughter who is half Norwegian and half Gambian. There is no one who has called the police when I’m out with my daughter. I think they are calling because I’m with a white child. It is racism. I have no criminal record and is a good man, he said.

37-year-old moved to Norway in 2010, after teacher education in the country of origin Gambia and marketing education in Birmingham. He got Norwegian citizenship in 2012 and has Norwegian wife and a daughter of five years.

The family also bought a house in Porsgrunn, and he says he knows many of the city he moved to in 2013. The teacher is trained Gambia also helps those who are weak in math from 7th 9.- class of mathematics at the Westside School.

He seems, however episode yesterday was very upsetting, and did not quite know what to do.

– I do not feel good. I can not move because of racism, I have children and wife here. I have not experienced racism second spot, but in Porsgrunn I think it’s much, says the man, who has lived in including Birmingham and Oslo.

Had to check out the message

Operations Petter Hovet in Telemark Police confirmed to the Varden that the police who managed for a message that looked like a man ran after the children and tried to entice them to him, and that the police were forced to check out such a message.

– We checked out the severity of the message and it turned out that it was not serious. They were just at the library, said Hovet.

Samateh told Dagbladet that the police did complain, but he does not think it helps. He seems partly it was uncomfortable that the police appeared uniformed front of the children.

– I think they think wrong when police react that way when there are children there. Many of the kids know me, and it was once part chat after I was done with the police. I wonder how children perceive it, says Samateh Dagbladet.

Hovet in Telemark Police point out that uniform is the police uniforms and that the police were actually apologizing.

Samateh says he will send a letter to the chief of Telemark, Anti-Discrimination Tribunal and child protection. He says the message from the caller that some races for children is not true – and he experiences it as racism.

– There are also many Norwegians living in Gambia. Where are all welcome. We need to have a great time and enjoy ourselves, whether you are from Asia or Africa, white or brown, he says.
