One died when two fishermen slipped into the water outside Halden – Aftenposten

One of the two men are confirmed dead, police officials on Twitter clock 22. The condition of the others is not known.

Both fishermen are Polish nationals in their 30s and were visiting acquaintances in Halden.

Police in Østfold reported at 21.15 o’clock that two men had ended up in the water at the pier on Isebakke outside Halden . The police was notified about the incident clock 20.57.

– After the preliminary information we have, they stood on the pier and fishing when this happened, says operations manager Lars STENRØD in Østfold police told Aftenposten.

Rescue Divers were sent to the site and started searching for the two, while the rescue helicopter from Rygge were scrambled and flew towards the place.

JRCC for Southern Norway reports that the two men are fishermen.

– Three men were fishing when two of them slipped into the water, said operations manager Terje Marstad in Østfold police.

– After the rescue divers from Fredrikstad came, the two found relatively quickly. They were found right under the pier. There was very poor visibility in the water so divers had to grope to find them, says Marstad NRK Østfold.

Late Sunday night working police to notify relatives and to obtain information about the condition of the other of the two fishermen.

Isebakke is a residential area west of Halden, by Ringdalsfjord between Norway and Sweden.
