Vatnar about possible new proposals: – I do not think anything. I want to see and know. – Aftenposten

– I do not think anything. I want to see and know, said taciturn leader of the pilots in English when he was asked if he thought Kjos had something new to put on the table in today’s meeting.

– We are prepared to spend the time needed, says the head of Norwegian Pilot Union, Halvor Vatnar.

The National Agency Nils Dailseide says both parties have contacted him to initiate a consent based mediation process.

– I know nothing about negotiation will. Now we must first examine the basis for a new dialogue, he said.

He could not estimate how long the meeting would last.

Approximately 40,000 airline passengers, who were raised with English today , may get good news in the next few hours. Parties after an intense war of words in the last day ready to talk.

But it becomes a significant task for the National Agency. The conflict is not about money, at least not this time, but more about the so-called management prerogative and thus whether principles.

What should decide?

The strikers pilots are employed by the subsidiary Norwegian Air Norway.

1) pilots require agreement with real employer who they believe is the parent company Ryanair and that agreements are followed.

2) The pilots require appointments ne in Scandinavia shall be equal and competition on equal terms.

3) Joint career opportunities and flexibility for pilots throughout the group.

Everyone sits Kjos Fast

This has English rejected. The conflict escalated further on Thursday afternoon when the board of Norwegian Air Norway (NAN) decided to establish new subsidiaries in Norway, Sweden and Denmark for the Scandinavian pilots in the company.

Fighting for control right?

Central for English is the so-called management prerogative. It is not the pilots who should decide in which part of the company they are employed.

Norwegian has been clear that costs must be reduced and flexibility in the Scandinavian operation if the company should be able to retain the same many pilots today. The alternative is downsizing in Scandinavia, emphasized English in a press release Thursday afternoon when it announced the news of the three new companies.

The response from flyers union Parat was that this did not change anything. They relate to the parent company.

Legal or not

Different employment experts believe that this will not change anything in the deadlocked conflict. But whether it cover Norwegian has made the midst of a strike is legal or not – are obviously not the parties agreed.

Not real negotiations

When the parties met at the State Mediator at 13 o’clock there not to go in real negotiations. It is to find out whether there is a basis for resuming negotiations and thus get a deal that ends the strike.

Hoping for real negotiations

Head of the pilots in English Halvor Vatnar hope to meet a counterpart who is negotiating willing and who will go into real discussions also about the fundamental questions.

Vatnar says it is not set any deadline for negotiations at the State Agency, type NTB.

– We believe it is time to find solutions to the conflict in terms of all passengers who are not going where they’re going and we expect to be able to discuss the main issues so far in the conflict have not been up to real discussions, says Vatnar.
