The police will prosecute Gjermund Cappelen – Aftenposten

Cappelen was indicted in December 2013 after police in Asker and Bærum in longer had investigated an environment that introduced and sold drugs in Asker and Bærum.

He is believed to be the mastermind of an extensive drug network and after Aftenposten acknowledge Cappelen importation of 1.2 tonnes of hashish.

Police Attorney Janne Danielsen Asker and Bærum Police confirmed to Aftenposten that they have sent the case for review to the public prosecutor.

She would not comment on the contents of the submission, nor police setting. She will not say whether police have concluded investigation or not, although TV2 quoted her that the police have finished the investigation.



Seven helpers

– After what I know, police so to speak finish the investigation. They prepare a case against Cappelen and seven aides, they say Vibe Aftenposten.

It is the storage and distribution somnå is sent to decision by the public prosecutor. It is the Attorney General who ultimately decides indictment issue in this case.

The trial is pre-set for September.

Three aides have been in a long time in custody. These should have had key roles in the environment. In addition, a number of others have been charged with less central roles in hashish network.



Jensen not on trial

The corruption accused policeman Eric Jensen is not among the eight scheduled for the court in September.

Cappelen together with Jensen charged gross corruption and serious drug crimes by Norwegian Bureau for the Investigation of Police Affairs. Bureau own investigation has not been completed.

According to Aftenposten get lit, none of the seven helpers Cappelen who is charged for the actual importation of hashish, but it is at this point it can be appropriate to prosecute also Eirik Jensen.

Cappelen believes Jensen helped with importation, which the policeman has declined.

Along with Cappelen was also his closest aides arrested. Police allegedly found 80-90 kilograms of hashish and also millions, in his residence during the investigation.

Several other people who should have been key in hash network were arrested while Cappelen, and two of them have been in custody as long as he. In addition, several have been charged during the investigation.

First, in February policeman Eirik Jensen apprehended and detained by Norwegian Bureau for the Investigation of Police Affairs. The investigation against him is so far Aftenposten know still ongoing.

Jensen and Cappelen has a long history, and met in 1993 when Cappelen was arrested on Karl Johan. They have had a friendship similar conditions.

While Jensen explained that Cappelen was his informant, says Cappelen that Jensen helped him to drug trafficking, including by notifying about controls. Jensen and his lawyer Jens-Ove Hagen has denied this strongly.
