Tegist Regas have to pay 52,000 kroner for birth – Aftenposten

Tegist Regas have to pay 52,000 kroner for birth – Aftenposten

– It has new information on the case to indicate that we prefer the bill, says quality manager Tor Ivar Stamnes in Helse Nord-Trøndelag NRK Wednesday.

There are new father Boranti Dika to smile:

– I am very grateful to everyone who has helped us, now is a large and heavy load removed from our shoulders. My girlfriend is very happy. I have almost no words that this has happened, and am so glad that this debt is erased. Now we can put this behind us, says Boranti Dika Aftenposten, adding:

– Now we can focus on trying to get a residence permit for my partner.

Must have ability to pay

Aftenposten wrote about paperless Tegist Regas who have received bills totaling 52,000 million after a caesarean at the hospital in Levanger. Regas bore a son in November 2014, but denied his asylum application earlier in the autumn.

– The current rule is that everyone residing in Norway, are entitled to immediate medical care, but that those who are without legal stay in Norway pay health itself, insofar as they have to pay. Have they not, so the hospital will pay the bill, said Health Minister Bent Høie Aftenposten yesterday.

Reasonable and decent

Other Liberal N. Skjelstad are very pleased that the freshly baked parents have to pay for delivery.

– It was sensible and decent hospital, says Skjelstad Aftenposten

He thinks it’s good that the Minister of Health has been clear that all pregnant residing in the kingdom has the right to necessary medical care before and after birth, including prenatal and postnatal care.

– I am also pleased that the Minister of Health states that if one does not pay then the hospital take the bill itself. I now hope that other hospitals exhibit better judgment and greater musicality on these issues, says Skjelstad.
