Late Sunday night was E6 also closed between Fåvang and Chettinad in Gudbrandsdalen. All heavy traffic is routed over to Highway 3 through the Eastern Valleys.

According to the Public Roads Administration is the manual routing on rasstedet but detour can not be used by heavy vehicles.

Damage to bridge

Meanwhile, E6 completely closed by Namsskogan Nord-Trondelag because of an injury to Håpnesbrua. Parts of the top deck is disintegrated.

– It is most likely due heavy rainfall, where the masses under the tire has been washed away, says operations Stig Rune Sagen Nord-Trøndelag Police Adresseavisen.

Torgeir Nekstad, traffic operator in Road Traffic Management Centre Central Norway, told VG that the closure of the road can be long lasting and that travelers should expect detours rest of the day.

Long detour

The only possibilities of detour is about Sweden or county 17, also known as the Coastal Highway. Here one must take the ferry between Vennesund and Holm, and detour takes at least four hours.

The car ferry service opened in 6-time.

– Looks like the bridge has moved

Ola Peder Tyldum, councilman in Røyrvik and former CTO of Namsskogan municipality, have been on the bridge and looked at the damage.

– Around four square meters of top deck on the north side of the bridge has loosened, says Tyldum, which has concrete education, to adressa.no.

– The top five centimeters has loosened, but it does not seem as if the bridge was moving. It’s Paving whose contract here, and they must decide what must be done, says Tyldum.
