Terminates the search for missing 18-year-old – BergensAvisen

– We end the rescue operation and is now entering the search for a person presumed dead, said operations Kjersti Eidsnes in Hordaland Police NRK.

18-year-old disappeared from the spot after he and a mate were involved in a traffic accident on Ekerhovd Sotra early Thursday. Both thrust from the place before the police arrived, but Buddy (17) joined later.

– It was suspected drink driving when we discovered the accident, so it may have been why 18-year-old ran away, said operations manager Eidsnes NTB Friday.

Searching range was extended Saturday and exploration took place partly in the terrain a bit away from the sea.

In total 180 people in the search, among them 65 volunteers. Personnel from Norwegian People’s Aid, Red Cross, Civil Defence and Norwegian Rescue Dogs participated in the search, which resumed Sunday.

– We will have a submarine to search the sea. Alongside this, we will conduct an investigation and intelligence, says Eidsnes to Bergens Tidende.
