Boat with nine aboard aground off Averøya – Dagbladet.no

(Dagbladet): Nine people were rescued from the sea after a boat sank Saturday evening.

– There is a boat that has gone on a cutting outside Averøya. There were nine aboard, their condition is unknown, said operations manager Tove Anita Asp North Møre og Romsdal Police Dagbladet earlier tonight.



Stuck

The alarm went at 21.20 that the fishing vessel “Leif Roald» had gone on a cutting in Hustadvika, which is known to be one of the roughest areas along the west coast.

– We have been informed that the skate stands as firm because it does not seem to be in immediate danger it to sink. A helicopter ambulance from Ålesund is also on the way out, said rescue leader.



Fresh breeze

She says she has been in contact with the skipper of the lifeboat, but it is so busy that she has not gotten any good status yet.

– A Norwegian and two Polish men are aboard the rescue vessel. The remaining six people are on board Poseidon assisting says Aarvik.
