Mortality is highest three to five days after the contamination reaches its peak levels, according to a report from researchers at NIPH, NPRA and medical faculty at the University of Oslo.

– Mortality increased markedly

– The findings are serious, because it affects so many, perhaps up to 100,000 people living in the most affected areas in Oslo, he said.

Air pollution is highest at the measuring stations at Smestad in Oslo avenue and Hjortnes Oslo West – and at Alnabru and Manglerud in the east.

Particulate matter and nitrogen dioxide, NO2, is the most serious sources of harmful air pollution.
