SKIEN (Dagbladet): – It’s not a crime to be poor fellow. But it probably should be.

It says the 40-year Stathelle man who was cohabiting with the deceased Linn Madelen Braathen while best friend of ekspolitimannen who is charged with having left Braathen helpless night of 3rd August year. He is the first of the witnesses in the trial that is among her dependents.



– Did not know about chatting

The 40-year-old panel beater says he knew nothing about the intimate and sexual chats partner had with his best friend, whom he has known since the age of four. He knew not something that the two ever went nocturnal trips – until after Braathen was found dead in the water Brevik Bridge and best friend were charged in the case.

– I felt stabbed in the back, he said.

Ekspolitimannen has admitted that he testified falsely about where he was when Braathen died. He told police he was on his way home, while in reality he was on the bridge with her friend.

– How do you see that he said he had been with Linn on the bridge? the prosecutor Kjetil Omholt know.

– I do not think it is possible. First you lose your partner, and you lose your buddy, he said.

– So you’re not friends anymore?

– No. Friendship is over. Destroyed forever.

After Braathen was found dead in the sea in the morning on August 3, moved her boyfriend into the now accused best friend and stayed for a few days to get support in the difficult time. But ekspolitimannen was arrested after a few days and was remanded in custody for six months.



Do Braathen was killed

My boyfriend do not believe that Braathen may have come up over the railing at the Brevik Bridge and jumped in the water. He believes the accused ekspolitimannen threw her overboard.

– I do not think Linn, with bad ankles and long dress, would have managed to get over the railing. She must have gotten help, says 40-year-old.

He can not see any reason why Braathen wish to kill himself that night.

– Nothing suggested something, he says.

Stathelle man says that he met Braathen in 2010, and they eventually became lovers, and then living together.

– The relationship was awesome. We never quarreled, and talked about the children at the end, he said.

– How has the past year been? ask counsel Niels-Christian Petersen Schelver.

– Ever game. I’m sitting here with no spouse and no idea what to do now. I have a very house with lots of debt. But life goes on.



Getting the best testimonials

Sambo’s statement stands in stark contrast to the defendant’s statement. Ekspolitimannen says there never was any relationship between him and Braathen, and that the intimate tone of chats due to their internal means of communication. He also says he tried to save her friend, but he could not reach before she jumped. Later he was not to report the death of irrational reasons.

When the video of the police reconstruction was played in court earlier today broke the accused 42-year-old wept.

He has also gained an excellent reputation as a policeman and friend of former colleagues in the police.

Ekspolitimannen was originally charged with manslaughter. Public Prosecutor assessed the evidence for weak and traveled instead charges of leaving Braathen in helpless condition. He is also charged with the false explanation.

The case is scheduled for five days in Lower Telemark District Court.
