Police and firefighters had to break into a smoky apartment where a man sat and slept. He had fallen asleep from a pizza that he tried to fry in skillet.

– We arrived in the nick of time when we broke us into the apartment in cooperation with the fire department, says operations manager Arvid Røste in Inland police.

He assumes that the man threw the pizza in a frying pan and fell asleep from it.

– It’s a little unconventional way to cook pizza, but one is hungry, then you’re hungry, says Røste. The incident took place Saturday morning, and police said the man was not quite sober. He was discharged after a brief check of the emergency room.

Surgical leader praises man’s good neighbors.

– The neighbors heard the smoke alarm. In time it was not smoke, but it was stint inside the apartment. Had he had bad neighbors, he’d been sitting in the chair. It was not particularly healthy in there, says Røste.

According to Directorate for Civil Protection and Emergency Planning, starts every tenth house fire because someone forget or fall asleep from the stove while cooking.
