Health North still has not put in place an offer ritual circumcision of boys. Neither Tromso or Bodo specialists will perform circumcision.
Also no private clinics want to take the assignment. Therefore Health North now asked other regional authorities about a cooperation to get a quote in place, NRK reported.
– The case is extraordinarily complicated in that it has created very much resistance. We have had a dialogue with the surgical environments in Bodø and Tromsø. There has been very significant resistance, says technical director Geir Tollåli Northern Regional Health Authority.
Which health Helse Nord possibly will cooperate with is not clear, according Tollåli. But what is clear is that north Norwegian parents who want to circumcise their sons should plan to travel a good distance.
