He does not know whether the patient, a man, have symptoms of Ebola.

– Have you symptoms, can be infected by close contact. But we should remember that this is just a preliminary suspicion. And a number of diseases gives the same symptoms as Ebola in the initial phase, it also includes influenza and a number “winter diseases” that goes for the time.

If this should prove to be Ebola, it will So, be the first case diagnosed in Norway, said Søbstad.

– How fast can it get a reply?

– Probably not until During Sunday. Then we must implement contingency plans in the municipality, and all those who may be infected must be taken into isolation for 21 days. It is considered as the maximum incubation period for this disease.

– Is Haukeland poised to take off this?

– It is the absolute. We’ve had quite a thorough training in this; Ebola has been discussed since the summer.

From Sierra Leone

Høgli informs that person should have been in Sierra Leone. There is not talking about a person who is employed as a professional at the hospital.

– This is a person who has been in Sierra Leone. Stay votes temporal that it might be Ebola. But it is not a person who has been sent out as health workers, says Høgli.

Non infectious

Communications boss can not say anything about whether the person has moved out of the population, but stresses that the person should not have been infectious.

– For our part, since this is confirmed, I can say that we have had dialogue today with both Bergen Health and competent. How we and our health people have perceived the situation, we have no reason to believe that there is some risk of infection. Our healthcare have not seen any reason to do anything more now than to wait.

– How can you assess the situation like this? Many will perceive this dramatic?

– By contagion situations will always establish contact with the person or it comes to map movement patterns, to know if there is danger of infection also for others. As we have been informed about it, there is no reason for us to implement some measures.

– We have a good infection control plan, we have also had a concrete exercise involving the receipt of Ebola patient at Flesland. We have an emergency on this and it is implemented, but we see no need for action, says Rastad.
